PostSubject: Bittersweet Sanctuary   Fri Jan 16, 2015 12:57 pm

The worst time of the year had been winter. The scaled master of disaster had been living within the confines of the sewers, on the run yet again. He lived beneath what smelled of human lands, but they were starting to get hot on his tail. They knew there was a monster among them and therefore, they carried on after him with pitchforks and torches, riffles, and anything else they could find. Some of the humans from Asian descent had had called him "Godzilla", a name once referred to for a large creature known to destroy Tokyo and other Japanese cities way back when. But with the shifting of the continents, there was no longer a "Japan", only the memories of such. Ozzy camped out in the sewers, as he had for many years of his life, but on this day they found him. A small bit of light lit the end of a long tunnel. Small rats ran towards Ozzy, and soon came the shouting of man and the barking of their furred beasts. "Ahh fuck.." he whispered to himself. Quickly he gathered his things, grabbing his knapsack and anything he could get quickly. He still had some of his addiction hidden in the sack, as he would not be able to live without it. Everything else, he destroyed, making it look like he had already been raided. Running down the tunnel, he saw the escape, a ladder. Ozzy clung onto it for dear life and shimmied on up it quickly. When he made it to the top, the drain cover was heavy and hard to move. Luckily for him, he had the strength of his primal form to back him up. Pushing with great force, he slid the cover to the side. As he poked his head out from the sewer, a car came racing by, missing his head by only an inch or two. When it was clear, Ozzy hopped out and covered it back up quickly. He raced through the street, dodging cars and making his way for the area away from the human lands. He held his pack tight in his grasp as he rushed for the darkness. Once he was shrouded by the over growth of wildlife, he knew he would need some form of heat soon. His thin jacket he wore barely protected his cold blooded body from the freezing temperatures.

There was only one thing he knew to do, one way he could be warm again. He dropped to his knees in the snow and rummaged through his bag, finding the small little plastic baggy of delicious white powder. He looked to a fallen three stump and quickly hobbled over to it. His hands were freezing and he could feel the blood starting to slow way down. He needed his fix, he wanted it. Pouring some of it out onto the stump, he divided it into three lines. With the use of a credit card, he straightened them up and prepared for inhalation. His rolled up Denari served as the perfect tube for snorting it up. With the first line, he lifted his head back and wiped his nose repeatedly. Two more lines to go and he would be back into his bliss. As he took them into his nasal canal, he stood back on his legs. His eyes rolled in his head and he closed them. Everything went silent, not even the sound of his beating heart could be heard around him. But then the voices came. There was shouting all around and it rang in his head. Though, in the forest around him, it was dead silent. The schizophrenia was setting in and he had no idea it was all in his head. "Help! Someone help me! They're out to get me!" He yelled as he grabbed his bag and rushed through the snow. He ran and ran, making his way closer and closer to the Shifter borders, without even knowing it. Before he crossed the boundary, he dropped to his knees and shouted to the world at the top of his lungs. "Help me!"

The shifter dunned a new outfit, fitting a knitted beanie atop her hair so that her ears stayed warm no matter the ice cold air. Her face was bare asides the natural blush to her cheeks to what was formed due to the frost outside. Coursed around the neck, she wore a matching scarf, and though she was feline beneath the human disguise, she wished to stay warm in all it's glory to what the primal form brought her from the inside. Her blonde lochs splayed around her shoulders and down her back to almost a few inches short of her hips. The tiger purred to the whistling wind and began her journey to the opening of her cave, moving the veil to what blocked a majority of the cold from entering. Boots crunching onto the ground first, she walked into the dead of light and mumbled to herself a sorts of words that reminded her of errands that needed to be done. She checked around the territories once she had shifted into a beloved white tigress, pawing the snow and marking her trail with a path of large paw-prints embedded into the white. No longer was she displayed with a wintery outfit, but that of stripes and fur, a lean build and thick limbs to help her journey a bit easier through the lands to what she owned so proudly of. Tail swaying, limbs bent and underbelly lowered close to the ground, her animalistic senses began to kick in. If it hadn't been for the black markings upon her, to which had been rightfully earned, she would've been one with nature, completely hidden, if not to a majority with her remaining white fur. Her slit-shaped pupiled eyes grew wide in colour and size as they spotted a roaming buck wander a bit too curiously away from the group. She hungrily licked her chops, readying her position to spring from the small ditch to claim a prize for herself. But then, suddenly, did a scream ricochet off the surrounding trees and send the birds above squawking and flying with fear of the predator that sought for help. When Eden looked away for the slightest second to see the birds scatter, she glanced back down to see the buck had pranced off in the chase for shelter.

Although the kill was lost, the tigress moved passed it and flicked her round ears to the panicking sound of a man nearby. Little did she know, he was not being chased by anything, as there was no scent in the area other than the single foreigner and her pack. So who was after him necessarily? Sprinting into a dead run, the black striped feline roared mightily through the terrain and bound towards the call. She panted, carrying her heavy weight fluently across the forest despite what may or may have not blocked her path. Eden would only avoid it with pure ease the closer she got to the man at the borders - her borders. With a single leap of a nearing boulder, her body sprang up and began to spiral, her figure molding into something else, almost like a forming portal. When in range, she shifted in mid-air, her height forming to that of a young woman and no longer to be on four legs, but now two. "I'm coming!" The tigress bellowed over her loss of breath. Her elbows bent towards the speed of her step, her human legs pumping vigorously into the firm ground. Soon, she was able to reach him, seeing him on his knees and pleading mercy, yet no one was behind him, nor nearing any time soon according to her keen sense of hearing. She brought herself to his level, her bare shins coming close to the snow as she tried to look him into the eyes from a safe distance, "Sir?" Her voice was gentle and calming, just as a mother's would when caring for her child that had had a nightmare. Reaching out, she was fearful of being denied, but she caressed his cheek with a soft hand, "I am Eden, Regina Eden, a shifter like you.. Are you okay?" Her nose twitched to the scent of a sewer, but she tried to look passed that, as well as the smell of what she depicted to be an expensive drug. Had he of taken it by will or forced? The Regina did not question him either way, his mind was not stable, and she could detect fear all too easily. "Who're you?" Her blue crystal eyes shown beautifully into his as she requested a name, head slight of a tilt. She could feel his aura of some type of reptilian creature, but that was all she knew, as shifters could never detect a certain species, but the race in general by a specific feeling.

Soon he was no longer alone. Through the trees, he could not hear her coming, only the sounds of the humans chasing him. They yelled and shouted behind him, drawing nearer. He cupped his hands over his ears, trying to blot out the sound, but it was still coming. He just about lunged for her, wrapping his arms around her body as he pulled himself to her chest. He held her tight, unsure if he was hurting her or not, but being on the drugs he did not care. He could not weep even if he wanted to. "Good, you are here, hurry they come, they come for us... we need to run... to leave, get go..." He stood up and picked her up with him, moving his arms so that he was cradling her in his. He turned their bodies to look behind them. "Okay we have lost them... no time... no time at all...." he gasped as he looked to her. His tone completely changed "hey, how are you doing sexy lady? You look so fine and so nice - like kouz kouz, so nice they named it twice." He smiled to her and looked into her pure blue eyes, they were gorgeous and he could barely pull himself from them. Quickly he leaned in and kissed her lips. It was a decent kiss, enough lip action that she would know it was a kiss. And before she could do anything, he broke the kiss and shouted, "Oh fuck! Get the fuck out of here!" he shouted as he rushed for the deeper part of the forest. He jumped over logs and rocks, making his way further and further from the voices. When they finally made it to a point he felt safer, he let her down, panting heavily as he clasped his hands to his knees. He stood up and looked to Eden, it was as if he did not even know what he had done. All the rush of everything forced the drugs to move through his body faster than normal. He looked to her and scratched the back of his head just a tad. "Do I know you from somewhere?"

Everything seemed to happen within seconds, and her mind was left in a haze, flipped immediately upside down and at a loss of balance to find a mental ground. Eyes narrowed, she was taken back by his embrace and the closeness of their bodies, confusion startling her greatly as her lips parted in shock, "No one's here.," Eden's expression then changed throughout the time his voice was altered to a more flirtatious one, and before she could respond, she was abruptly interrupted with a tricky display. Her blonde waves were in a mess, and before she knew it, her lips were locked with the tender masculine ones to which he possessed. Oh, god.. this isn't good.., she thought, her mouth tensing up slightly as her eyes shut tight. At an instant, her body recoiled from the action, knowing well her heart belonged to another as well as her mouth for those to kiss. He helplessly invaded that space, and at this point, she wasn't sure if it was the drugs or not to what compelled him to believe such a thing was thoughtful in any way, shape or form. Though everything within her control went soft as his kiss grew more deep and she was left to the luxury of a calm demeanor once more. ..Oh.. my.. boy, does he know how to make an impression.. Her eyes were big and bold, surprise reigning high within their colour despite what had just happened. However, she did not gift him with the same passion, for she did not know the source fueling it, as she was prepared to grant that gift to another at a farther reach from here. Soon then to be torn back to reality, she stared at him, blinked once, and that was enough to make her rear back, only to find herself in his grasps once more.

The man then decided to trespass her borders, and she struggled furiously from his grip, though it was no use, she'd deal him later. But she had to hand it to him, he was athletically inclined and could withstand great distances despite even her weight upon his arms. The only thing making it so negative about the man as a whole was the substance to what he may of taken, which remained a mystery, still. "Let me go, damnit!" She screamed, beating her small fists into his shoulders before she sharpened her claws and dug them into his flesh to make him stop. Blood pooled around her fingers, and soon, did he come to a halt, releasing her so he could catch his breath. As the Regina was then freed, she brushed herself off and let out a huff-like growl, her fangs freely showing just behind her agape lips. Her blue eyes were furiously bright, and her expression was no longer calm, but filled with rage to such nonsense. But he asked a question, one of confusion and pure, dull curiosity - like as if nothing had ever happened. And as much as she wished to keep it that way, she could not take any risks of this reptilian shifter parading around her territories, hopped on drugs and terrorizing her clan. Her sleeve came up to wipe her lip exaggeratedly, wishing it had never been done and regretting she could not break away sooner, "First of all, I'm Regina Eden, the leader of the shifters and these lands. The lands which you've crossed." Her fangs grew longer by the second, her angry growing along with them as well as the shrinking of her pupils to turn into cat-like slits, "And second-" With one quick motion, she balled her fist and swung at him, hoping she'd hit him square in the jaw like she had learned through her older brother to defend herself. If not, she'd only pry out her claws and tear into his skin until he was apologizing and begging mercy. It just so happened to be the same fist where her engagement ring was, even better, perhaps it'd leave a mark. "-don't you dare kiss me again. Or my fiance will happily kill you for me." Eden said, fixing her hair so it flipped over her shoulder and pulling the end of her sweater down, "Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to know why I should still waste my time talking to you."

If you still wish to continue, you may, but if this is skipped, please change your name to Baron Ozzy.
It is only temporary, so do not be worried. He will grow quickly.
